Hot Water Without the Power Bill

A solar water heater uses rooftop collectors to heat water directly from sunlight, cutting the electricity or gas that would otherwise go into your geyser or boiler. It's one of the fastest-paying-back solar investments available, especially in a climate as sunny as Coimbatore's.

As a TEDA & MNRE enlisted manufacturer and solar system integrator, Dev Solar supplies and installs solar water heating systems for individual homes as well as larger institutional needs — hostels, hotels, and hospitals with high daily hot-water demand.

Why Switch to Solar Water Heating

Why Switch to Solar Water Heating

Water heating is one of the largest hidden costs in a home or institution's power bill:

  • Cuts electricity or gas costs for hot water
  • Performs well in Tamil Nadu's sunny climate
  • Minimal maintenance, long service life

A well-sized system can meet the bulk of your hot water needs year-round, with your existing heater only kicking in as backup on the cloudiest days.

Sized to Your Household or Institution

We assess your daily hot water usage — number of occupants, peak demand times, and existing plumbing — to recommend the right tank capacity and collector size. For institutions with high-volume needs, we design systems that scale accordingly.

Installation is straightforward on most rooftop types, and once commissioned, the system needs only periodic checks to keep performing at its best.

How Solar Water Heating Works

  • Pressurised and non-pressurised models available
  • Sunlight heats the water directly through the rooftop collector
  • No electricity is used for heating — the built-in element is only a cloudy-day backup
  • Economical and beneficial compared with electric or gas water heating

Model Specifications

Our non-pressurised evacuated-tube range has an SS-coated PC-structure outer tank and a porcelain glass-lined inner tank, runs on both hard and soft water, and ships with a backup electric heater. An air-vent pipe is required on all non-pressurised models.
